Weekly Ad Recipe – Italian Style Beef Roast

If you like an Italian blend of spices like myself, this is the roast for you! The tomato mixture combined with fresh garlic and tomatoes was fantastic! This was such an easy recipe to throw together before I left for work in the morning. Plus, it was awesome to come home and have dinner already done. Enjoy….I did!

Italian Style Beef Roast
Serves: 8
 
Ingredients
  • ½ Cup Onion, chopped
  • 14.5 Oz. Can Diced Tomatoes, undrained
  • 3 Lbs. Boneless Beef Rump Roast
  • 2 Slices Bacon, chopped
  • 1 Clove Garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 T. Italian Seasoning
  • 3 T. Cornstarch
  • ¼ Cup Water
  • 8 Oz. Whole Fresh Mushrooms
Instructions
  1. In 5 quart slow cooker, mix onion and tomatoes.
  2. Place beef in slow cooker.
  3. In small bowl, mix bacon, garlic and Italian seasoning; rub over beef.
  4. Cover; cook on low heat setting 8 to 10 hours.
  5. Remove beef from cooker.
  6. In small bowl, mix cornstarch and water; stir into tomato mixture.
  7. Return beef to cooker.
  8. Cut large mushrooms in half and arrange around beef.
  9. Increase heat setting to high.
  10. Cover; cook 20 to 30 minutes until tomato mixture has thickened and beef has reached an internal temperature of 135 degrees.

This is one of the best recipes to come home to after a long, exhausting day of work. Simply throw the items together right before you leave in the morning, and when you walk into your home in the evening, you will be ready to eat immediately. Add a dab of horseradish sauce or some ground mustard to add even more flavor! Enjoy…I did!

Slow Cook Hot Beef Sandwiches
Serves: 16
 
Ingredients
  • 1-4 lb. Beef Rump Roast
  • 1 oz. pkg. Dry Onion Soup Mix
  • 1 tsp. Dried Oregano Leaves
  • 2-10.5 oz. Cans Condensed Beef Broth
  • 2 Garlic Cloves, minced
  • 16 Buns, split
Instructions
  1. Place beef roast in 4-quart slow cooker.
  2. In medium bowl, combine all ingredients except buns; mix well.
  3. Pour over roast.
  4. Cover; cook on low setting for 8 hours.
  5. Remove beef from slow cooker; place on cutting board or large plate.
  6. Slice beef with knife or shred with 2 forks; place in buns.
  7. If desired, skim fat from juices in slow cooker.
  8. Serve sandwiches with individual portions of juices for dipping.

Slow Cooker BBQ Beef Sandwiches
Serves: 16
 
Ingredients
  • 4 Lbs. Beef Rump Roast, boneless
  • 2 cups Barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup Root Beer
  • Dash Salt and Pepper
  • 16 Sandwich Buns, split
Instructions
  1. In 4 qt. slow cooker, place beef.
  2. In large bowl, mix 1-1/2 cups of the barbecue sauce and the root beer; pour over the beef.
  3. Cover; cook on low heat setting for 8-10 hours.
  4. About 20 minutes before serving, remove beef from slow cooker; place on large plate.
  5. Pour juices from slow cooker in 12” skillet.
  6. Cook over medium heat about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until juices are thickened and reduced to about 3 cups.
  7. Meanwhile, shred beef with 2 forks; return to slow cooker.
  8. Stir in remaining ½ cup barbecue sauce into reduced juices in skillet; pour over shredded beef in slow cooker.
  9. Stir in salt and pepper to taste.
  10. Spoon about a ½ cup beef mixture into each bun.
