While following along with this week’s meal planning blog, please keep in mind that your grocery list may vary slightly from ours depending on what you need for this week’s meals or what you do not already have on hand that we do from previously meal planning creations, as well as diet restrictions or alterations to our recipes. MEAL ONE:

Ham Dinner
Meal Plan Day 1

It doesn’t get much easier than this! All you have to do is place Ham in slow cooker, pour 1 cup water over top. Cover and cook on low for 6 hours until heated through.
Serve with your family’s favorite vegetables to top off this hearty meal.

What You’ll Need:

  • 5 Lb. Average Hormel Spiral Sliced Bone-In Half Ham – $9.12

MEAL TWO:

Turkey Breast

Another easy meal to help save you some time! Prepare Turkey according to package directions and serve with some greens.

What You’ll Need:

  • 75 Lb. Boneless Jennie-O Frozen Turkey Breast
    – FREE with purchase of Hormel Spiral Bone-In Half Ham
  • 10 Oz. Fresh Express Clamshell Family Size Salads – $1.50
    ($3, reserve half for Meal #7)

MEAL THREE:

Easy Cheesy Pasta & Ham
Meal Plan Day 3

This cheesy recipe is sure to get lots of smiles!

Easy Cheesy Pasta & Ham
 
Ingredients
  • 16 Oz. Box Rotini Pasta, uncooked
  • 2½ Cups Milk
  • ¼ Cup Butter
  • ¼ Cup Flour
  • 1½ Cup Mild Cheddar Cheese, grated
  • ¼ tsp Salt
  • ¼ tsp Ground Black Pepper
  • 2 Cups Ham, cubed
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Spray 13×9 pan with nonstick spray, set aside
  3. Cook the pasta according to directions on the box, drain and return to pan
  4. Cut ham; set aside
  5. Warm the milk in the microwave; set aside
  6. In a large skillet, melt the butter, add the flour and whisk for one minute
  7. Slowly add milk, whisk constantly.
  8. Turn the heat up to medium and stir until thickened
  9. Slowly add cheese, (reserving ¼ cup) and whisk until melted after each addition
  10. Season sauce with salt and pepper
  11. Stir ham and cheese sauce into pasta; mix well
  12. Transfer to baking dish and spread evenly
  13. Sprinkle with reserved cheese
  14. Bake for 20-30 minutes or until bubbly

Cheesy Ham Chowder

Another great recipe to use the last of the Ham and fill up the whole family.

Cheesy Ham Chowder
 
Ingredients
  • 12 Oz. Bacon, diced
  • 1 Large Onion, chopped
  • 1 Cup Diced Carrots
  • 3 Tbsp All-Purpose Flour
  • 3 Cups Milk
  • 1½ Cups Water
  • 2½ Cups Cubed Potatoes
  • 15 Oz. Can Whole Kernel Corn, drained
  • 2 tsp Chicken Bouillon Granules
  • Pepper To Taste
  • 3 Cups (12 ounces) Shredded Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Cups Ham, cooked and cubed
Instructions
  1. Cook bacon over medium heat until crisp; dice up once cooled.
  2. Sauté onion and carrots until tender.
  3. Stir in flour until blended.
  4. Gradually add milk and water.
  5. Bring to a boil; cook and stir for 2 minutes or until thickened.
  6. Add the potatoes, corn, bouillon and pepper.
  7. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
  8. Add cheese and ham; heat until cheese is melted.
  9. Stir in bacon, serve hot.
