5 Gift Ideas for Dad, Less than $25, Under 10 Minutes

5 Fathers Day Gift Ideas

www.cobornsblog.com Check out Holly's blog on planning a practical party!Father’s Day is just around the corner. I’m here to give you some quick gift ideas. Not that Dad is not worth the time, he is very much is worth it. But let’s face it, sometimes time is something we do not have. In this blog I will give you 5 Gift Ideas that Dad will love, you can get most everything from your local Coborn’s, you’ll spend less than $25 and you can put it together in less than 10 minutes. In each of these examples I will give you the $25 or less option and I will give you what I am calling the “Premium” option, when your budget allows you to give a little more.

Every year I have to brainstorm ideas for my husband, my father in-law and my own Dad for gifts for Father’s Day. They are all pretty lucky guys, I mean after-all they have me as a wife, daughter-in-law or daughter, how much luckier can they get? Seriously though, it seems that if they want something, they go and buy it. So what I like about these gifts is that they are something that Dad can use and not something that he would necessarily buy for himself. They do not sit around the house and do not end up on next year’s garage sale. So here we go, let’s get creative.

Gift 1 – Baseball Bucket

5FathersDayGiftIdea_BaseballBucketIt’s baseball season, and if you have a baseball lovin’ Dad, this is a very fitting gift. All you need is a large bucket, I got mine from the dollar store and fill it with Baseball snacks and goodies.

Gift 2 – Dad’s Top Secret Ingredient

My Dad loves to grill, so this idea specifically for my Dad. He has grilling tools, I have made him an apron in the past, so this year he is getting a spice caddy with Four Brothers Grilling Spices. What I love about the Four Brothers Spices is that they are Gourmet, like something you would buy at a specialty store. Not just the generic brand that you see every day. We have six varieties available and you can find them in our meat department: Gourmet Seasoning Salt, BBQ Rib Rub, Porketta, Lemon Pepper, Prime Rib and Montreal Seasoning, I chose four for this gift. I simply spray painted the caddy with black chalkboard paint I had on hand to give it a neat look, placed the spices in the caddy, added a tag, ribbon and a little basket filler and it is good to go!

You will need:

  • 4 Four Brothers Seasonings of your choice
  • Small Wooden Caddy
  • Spray Paint – Optional
  • Basket Filler
  • Curling Ribbon
  • Free Printable Gift Tag

  • Or a DIY Father’s Day Coffee Mug

If you’ve got a few extra minutes, make a DIY Father’s Day Coffee Mug.

They are all the rage on Pinterest, the Sharpie Coffee Mug. So I figured I would give it a go. I purchased a Mug from Coborn’s, some Sharpies and Letter Stickers from the local craft store and tried to make a “Dad” Coffee Mug. Well, I think I was successful. It turned out pretty well. I simply spelled out “Dad” using the letter stickers on the coffee mug, used different shades of blue Sharpie markers to dot around the letters so after the letters were removed you could see the negative space of the word Dad. After the stickers were removed and I was happy with the image I “baked” the mug on a cookie sheet at 350°F for 35 minutes. That was it! Pretty simple and now you have a personal touch to add to the Coffee Lover Gift Basket, or give it on its own. Watch the video below to see how it’s done! One more tip, you probably want to hand wash this one, just in case!

Well I hope this blog left you inspired to make a fun gift for Dad for Father’s Day. However, if you are not so crafty, don’t worry! I have other simple options for you. You could order Dad a personalized gift on coborns.lifepics.com, from mugs to blankets, they have something your Dad is sure to love. Or want to go even easier? Grab a Hallmark Greeting Card from Coborn’s and stop by our Gift Card mall for a huge variety of Gift Cards. From Home Depot to Amazon, from Best Buy to Cabela’s, you will find the perfect gift card for Dad. Of course, I am partial to a Coborn’s Gift Card so he can buy some fresh steaks for the grill! But whatever you choose, Coborn’s makes it convenient!

That’s all from me, I hope you have a Great Father’s Day!
