Hi and happy October! Halloween this year falls on a Saturday and I can just hear the buzz in the air with all the planning for those spooktacular parties that everyone will either be hosting or attending.
Life is so busy and I’m sitting here putting together some quick appetizers for my Halloween party that I’m hosting this year. So you know me by now I love to talk and share recipes with anyone that wants to listen
Festive Halloween Punch
I first started with a festive Halloween Punch. If you want to impress your guests and get that really eerie atmosphere then dry ice is the key to any party. I found a small bowl and put it in an extra larger bowl. So in between each of the bowls I placed chunks of dry ice. Make sure to always use gloves when working with dry ice or you will burn yourself. Here is the punch recipe that I put together.
So right when your guests arrive, pour warm water in between those two bowls over the dry ice. It is just the coolest look and your guests will love it.
- 1 Can Frozen Lemonade Concentrate
- 1 Can Frozen Orange Juice Concentrate
- 2 Liters Sierra Mist or Sprite
- Mix together and it’s ready to go!!
Out of your Gourd
I wanted to stay with the Halloween theme but still wanted to serve other refreshments so on my way home today I stopped at our local Coborn’s Liquor store and the great guy that helped me suggested to serve a Pumpkin Beer, after learning more about the beers from the staff I decided to get the “Your Out of Your Gourd” Pumpkin Porter.
Simple Halloween Meatballs
I always seem to be short on time and I just don’t always have time to make homemade meatballs so I picked up the next best thing. If you haven’t tried them make sure to check out Simek’s Meatballs. They are awesome and the best part is all you have to do is drop them in a Crock Pot and add Ol’West BBQ Sauce. They are fully cooked so just turn the heat on low setting for an hour. Too add to the festiveness, I added these cute little appetizer picks. Click here and you can make them as well. Simply print, cut-out and attach to some toothpicks. Place one pick in each meatball and serve.
Bare Bones Meat & Cheese Tray
My next spooky appetizer couldn’t get any easier. All I did was slice a variety of cheese and meat and placed it on a tray surrounded by an assortment of crackers. Then I looked through some of my Halloween decorations and found this skeleton that I thought would look so awesome!
Now every party has to have some kind of sweet desserts so I found a very quick recipe and to add to my Halloween theme I bought one of those cute little pumpkins and carved it out and used it as a serving bowl. Here is the pumpkin spread that I prepared.
Mix all together and serve in a bowl or mini pumpkin. Don’t forget to serve them with Nilla Wafers, Gingersnaps or Cinnamon Graham Crackers. They are so yummy and have a perfect pumpkin spice flavor!
- 15 Oz. Can Pumpkin Puree
- 5 Oz. Instant Vanilla Pudding Package
- ¼ tsp. Pumpkin Spice
- 16 Oz. Whipped Topping
- Add all ingredients in a bowl.
- Mix well & top with a sprinkle of Cinnamon or Pumpkin Spice
- Serve with Vanilla Wafers, Gingers Snaps or Pumpkin Spice Cookies!
Last but not least you just have to have some kind of chocolate at your party don’t you?? Well here are some cute little goodie to share and they are so very easy to make. Just unwrap individual pieces of Reese’s Peanut Butter cups and tip them upside down. Insert a pretzel stick and you have a Witch’s Broom.
