These burgers are my absolute favorite. When you combine the fresh cilantro, green chillies, Monterey Jack cheese and then slice fresh avocados on the top of the burger you get the best ever combinations of flavor. They are a hit every time I serve them!
Ingredients
1 Lb. Ground Beef
4 Oz. Green Chilies, chopped & drained
2 T. Fresh Cilantro, chopped (optional)
1 tsp. Chili Powder
1/2 tsp. Salt
1 Medium Red Onion, thinly sliced
1 Medium Avocado, sliced
4 Slices Monterey Jack Cheese
Directions
Mix beef, chilies, cilantro, chili powder and salt together. Shape mixture into 4 patties about 1/2” thick. Spray 10” skillet with cooking spray; heat over medium-high heat. Cook onion in skillet 1-2 minutes, stirring occasionally, just until tender. Remove from skillet. Add beef patties to skillet, cook 10-12 minutes, turning once. Internal temperature needs to reach 160°F. Top patties with onions, avocado and cheese. Cover and heat until cheese is melted.
