This recipe is awesome! I had an after work party at my house on the deck and served this recipe as an appetizer along with cool refreshing drinks. It was the hit of the party and all the ladies loved it! It is great as a side when serving steak also. I will definitely be serving this recipe at my next party. Another idea that I tried was to add fresh chopped cilantro to the shrimp and serve Bloody Mary’s and the two paired so well together.
Ingredients
20 6 Inch Skewers
1/2 Cup Honey
1/4 Cup Butter, melted
1.5 tsp. Garlic Pepper Blend
1 T. Fresh Chives, chopped
2 Lbs. Uncooked Shrimp, peeled, deveined, tails removed
Directions
Soak skewers in water 30 minutes to prevent burning. Meanwhile, heat grill. In small bowl, mix honey, butter, garlic-pepper blend and chives until thoroughly combined. On each skewer, thread 3-4 shrimp, leaving 1/4 inch between each. Brush honey-butter mixture on both sides of shrimp. Place skewers on grill over medium heat. Cover grill; cook 5-7 minutes until internal temperature of shrimp reaches 145°F. Serve warm.
Makes 20 Skewers
Suggested Wine Pairing
Middle Sister Chardonnay
Middle Sister is an un-oaked Chardonnay making it a great choice to pair with shrimp. The Lemon and pear notes from the wine really highlight the honey butter with the shrimp. I really love this pairing!
